So! Sunday was gorgeous, Then the weather went north on me again and the high was in the 30's. Then it started warming up again and Friday was beautiful with the high in the mid 70's. I am still slogging through the galley. On Sunday I stepped away from that for a moment and cut out the port aft hatch coaming. It is trapezoidal in shape, so I broke out the finger joint jig I slapped together a couple years ago and cut the coaming. The finger joint will allow me to pivot the joint to get the correct angle This is the jig for the table saw. Each two corner boards are cut simultaneously with one board offset by the thickness of the saw blade so the space of one board lines up with the finger of the other. You can see that the joint can pivot to fit the trapazoidal hole We decided to change the hatch design to one illustrated By Wharram. It's nice and tight and should keep water out. This is drawn by Wharram and comes from his literature. Budgetboater installed more coamings. This small one is not to plan and goes in the forward cabins to facilitate ventilation. I finished up the second drawer that goes under the galley stove. A musical influence to Carl Stalling, and probably Penguin Café Orchestra. Everybody dance!
