Boat shows, Counting Coup And The Dearth Of Meaningful Content

4/14/2018

Every week I transcribe a faithful recounting of my weekly progress while the social media, like the Sioux, counts coup. It seems that the videos generate a more enthusiastic audience than this site. I think that the videos show the process in a more positive light than this website. Writing is my stronger skill, videos are my weaker. I prefer you two blog followers over my whatever number vlog followers. You two have seen the g̶o̶o̶d̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶b̶a̶d̶s̶  bads and worses of this process. The vloggers just see a pretty boat and how wonderful it is.

The boat show allowed me to again see people that loved building boats and helping others build boats, I saw the epoxy Guru show how to make perfect fillets. He gave me a scrunchy face when I said we smoothed our fillets with water. He liked denatured alcohol. His company makes beautiful small boats and campers that are varnished and quite lovely. I don't fit in that crowd. I'm not the quite lovely type.

While at the boat shows, I handed out my business cards......trying to get rid of them.

Be forewarned: this post is not very interesting. No, wait, none of my posts are. On to the whatever I did phase of the blog.

I went to a couple boat shows. I saw the tall ships.  I also went to a boat show and saw nice boats I cannot afford.

One can only imagine. I didn't see the jelly warehouse.....

I keep finding stuff that I gotta put somewhere. It's all important I think. Maybe it will be when it all gets placed  right now I'll have this floating pile of stuff. This blog is a steaming pile of stuff. Some day it all will be organized Not the blog, it's a lost cause).

This thing is to hold the aft mast from falling forward, I guess. Anyway, I did the routine: drill holes, coat with epoxy, including the holes, slap a coat of paint on, and bolt in place.

Seeing as I had the epoxy mixed I filled a small crack developing. Gouge it out, fill with thickened epoxy, and paint. Ben would be proud.

Thursday, I heard this crash and spent an (un)pleasant afternoon sorting all these machine screws and such after the box tipped over in the cockpit.  I promise I'll take more pictures next week.....Promise!
