Moving stuff around to clear an area, Ben came across a family of toads that he had to relocate. One roadrunner around, but he's become more furtive.
So on Sunday, after working for a half day, we decided that the next two days would probably be the last nice days of the year. We took the Mirror down to the lake and figured out how to rig it and sail it. We got it into the lake and had misadventures too numerous to mention, like a forgotten daggerboard and the inability to sail back home without walking the boat upwind. Yeah, we went for a walk in the lake. Sailors will know; they've been there. We went out Sunday and Monday afternoons. There is new stuff to buy to get it to sail right. But, we made it alright and the boat got wet, not to mention, us. So now it looks like a boat: scratches, rudder needs repairs, needs better lines, mud, OK, that's about it for the week! We glued a couple things on the rudder......... And a small ventilation hatch. Then the temperature dropped to the 40's and a wind kicked up preventing any epoxy from curing and us from working. Three lost days. Much discussion of trying to get productive in the cold months (we had plenty of time). The final solution: build a small 12 X 12 working shed that we can heat. Budgetboater coughed up some money and we started on the shed. Once finished, it should allow us more working time. As of now, we have the floor and 2 walls. All in all, not the most productive week. Sometimes (sometimes???) it's like that. Moving stuff around to clear an area, Ben came across a family of toads that he had to relocate. One roadrunner around, but he's become more furtive. Looking at him, I feel old.............................real old.
