It's me bruddah's site. If everybody buys one he will sell both mugs! It would make a lovely Christmas Present (a stoffing stucker). I make no money from this. He makes a pittance. You get a mug.

Who dat?

Oh, and a thankya to David and Sergey for their comments on last week's blog. David still thinks that I have more than two followers. I think that he cannot count both himself and his mustache as two people; it just doesn't seem right. He says that some people just follow the blog for the tunes. Smart people if they exist. That way they avoid the claptrap of these words.

So on to the claptrap!

Dat Ben! After a bit of relationship maintenance, Ben made it here Tuesday. We are now hard pressed to finish. I admit I was dragging a mite in dread of something going awry with the whole mess. Now I am emboldened by Ben's arrival. I am infused with a false sense of courage and braggadocio brought on by the existence of another's expectations. I can no longer mull and meander. I must boldly go where I haven't been. I guess that is what passes for leadership.
I dragged back into those external fuel filter mounts. I drilled the bracket holes. I glued the brackets on. I coated them with epoxy. I primed them. I painted them. I routed the hoses and attached the primer bulb. Ben zip tied them in places. We were finally ready to start the motors, I debated whether to test them on the hard or in the water. I vacillated. I finally decided to test them on the because there were too many things that were untested.

I poured fuel into the fuel tanks. They didn't prime. I poured more fuel in the fuel tanks and primed them. The filters filled with fuel.  We borrowed motor ear muffs. We dragged a water hose over and connected it to the ear muffs. The start panel worked! We partially tested one motor. It ran rough mostly because there wasn't enough fuel that's when we bought another can of diesel. We switched to the other motor. It ran, but needs adjusting. We called in the experts.  Adam got us semi running and said "It must be the governor, call Robbie". I didn't know the Texas governor was named "Robbie".
So Here we go around the bend. And a brief note on the passing of Ricky Jay. His business card read "Arcane knowledge on a need to know basis". Somehow this also rings true with all this boat stuff we've been doing. Those Yanmar outboards fit into that category. I put a video up on the U2b. It maintains my poor quality standards and production values. It is a good video of a non running motor.
To get back into the mood, Ben did an inspection of the boat and was impressed with how good it looks. He had never seen the boat completely together with lashed beams and all decks in place. He found a small project to do. The tillers had some cracks in them. They were strictly cosmetic as the tillers are white oak and pretty much indestructible. He has been away since April 2017 so had to reassure himself of the epoxy mix ratio. He soon was his meticulous self working the problem. It rained and got cooler. Stay tuned, fans and fannies to next weeks blog: Robbie and the Yanmars: clash of the titans!  Don't miss it.

The Music♫: Nancy Griffith "Love At The Five And Dime"

My Woolworths had an elevator. Back when life was magic and wonderful. I'd get a strawberry ice cream soda at the counter. It was right there where we changed buses.
