So with a new year we tend to reflect upon the year just ended. I won't, it sucked. I dwell not upon my past (screwed it up too many times and rather not think of it). If you want to trip along memory lane, just look through the past year's blog posts. I am looking toward the next set of screw ups, disappointments and challenges. It simply has got to be better than last year, I hope. There's your hope. Ben and I rang in the new year in our each individual manners. Ben followed his friends around and did the uncomfortable obligatory standing around in the cold, counting down like a space rocket launch and finding someone to kiss. I hung around the house until I was tired and said "why mark an arbitrary random point in time and space and celebrate it?" and went to bed. In the wee hours in my REM sleep I dream of the Pod modification. There's your dreams. I know Budge is having pod dreams. We are like a bunch of whales swimming in their pod.
OK, I fixed a light. The box was bad= more work than it seems. As usual it took a couple trips to the hardware store and, to keep my form up, much cursing. Working through a 4" hole that was just a mite too large for an old work box involved prying out the old nailed-in box through the hole in pieces and removing the nails sideways and screwing in a bracket to hold a different style box sideways to the joist (offset ratcheting screwdriver).
What? I'm on vacation!
I worked on my venerable Budweiser advertising clock. Ben had to figure out how to get it back together. It turns out the sides come off. Now all I have to do is figure out the wiring.
Made pizza, read books. Ben is a slug and does nothing. We needed this, turns out there is rest for the wicked. Hey, the newest Star Doodle movie is out, maybe I should see it...........................naw. Made a pilgrimage to our guilty pleasure: White Castle. Who says the U.S. doesn't have castles?
