I worked on a couple face frames for the chartroom area.
This week we spent working on numerous small projects: all the stuff that you'll never see, but are essential. Ben spending the week making PIHSSRP's (plywood inside hull side seam reinforcing plates). He's putting 9mm plates over the lower hull and 4mm plates over the upper hull on the interiors. This is boring, tedious and a royal pain in the ass. First we had to sand all ply butt seams. Remember, there are 8 areas to do this with, Some cabins needed 16 plates. All paint had to be removed and the epoxy scuffed to take the glue. I spent an entire morning in the port aft cabin all scrunched up sanding those seams, Ben working on parts (reinforcements for steps & shelves and such) Parts and such. This is me sanding a seam.........obviously, my better side. Here are some plates glued in and held with screws. The screws will be removed and the holes filled. Enough of this. it's boring and we will do this over and over and over and over................................aw hell, I'm boring myself! Budgetboater worked on grooving the grooves to fill the butt joints on the outside. It was groovy! My nitnoy projects were to glue in door supports in the seating area of the galley. Work on the galley tilt out and get it ready. Note the slots of the kerf bending, Neil. Is all this work going to make the galley look outstanding????? I dunno.......... I worked on a couple face frames for the chartroom area. Ben and I scored a couple of sturdy packing crates from the neighbor's pile. Ben made a nice workbench. We used those freebie 2X4's for the legs. The other crate became a storage shelf. Hey, you gotta show progress on something. We went to the big box store and scored on some cheap lumber. You always need bits and pieces. One piece was marked 70% off! I don't know why........... On the label stapled on the end, it actually read "Lazy S Lumber".
