Sweat, More Sweat And Tears (The Prevention Of)

With this boat part of the mystique of the marque is the clothing-optional-while-sailing aspect generated by the publicity surrounding these vessels. Nekkid boat folk everywhere! I think that there must be some advantage to this such as the elimination of doing laundry aboard or the prevention of tears in the cushions caused by apparel attachments.. The hazards may outweigh the advantages. The concept of getting something you value highly entangled in the running rigging may dissuade the practice. I don't personally wish to promote this on my boat as the thought of naked butt sweat stains on the Sunbrella is off-putting.
I delved into the sleeping cabins and, dripping sweat, cleaned them and prepared them for occupancy. I vacuumed and mopped as necessary. I cut to shape the spun polymer base mat designed to hold the mattress off the bunk and allow air flow. The sleeping mattress system is as follows: about a half inch of the spun polymer (Hypervent) topped by the mattress topped by me. The mattress consists of 3 inches of Dunlop latex topped by 1 inch of Talalay latex covered by Sunbrella top/vinyl bottom. Nice and comfortable.

All the time, sweat dripping off my nose. Naked nose sweat.

I researched some cabin fans on line and discovered the same thing you always discover: don't get too fancy, everything is garbage, opinions are like cell phones (everybody has one) and you get used to anything. It seems that whenever I do a project there's always either something in the way or you're putting something in that will be in the way later. All for that perfect sailing day that's never talked about. People want catastrophe calamity and pathos. goddam boats............

This has been my week. Frustrated with the lack of order. My goal is to make four spaces livable and uncluttered: the port forward cabin, the two center cabins and the cockpit. Every time I pat myself on the back for getting something stowed (not Harriet Beecher) in a proper place, I open Pandora's box and out hops a whole bunch of more stuff (not naked Pandora). I am working hard on acquiring stuff to stuff stuff into. I need a place to access the stuff I'll need more often and a place to put stuff to access on rare occasions. I am putting things that can spill into plastic boxes and things that can't into bags that conform to the space available. I have made numerous trips to get bags and boxes. The crap keeps sitting there laughing at me. Meanwhilst, this whole process is excruciatingly slow because, again, everything is new and I hate doing this.

Why does it look like I did nothing??  Everything is still there in the cockpit.

And to those that ask (????), Ben is doing fine. He should graduate next month,
