The Heat, The Sweat, Oh Great, Caveat And The Storm That Didn't Exist

I try not to make declarations, resolutions or prognostications. As soon as I do, I become a liar. I ended this building blog weeks ago. I figured that occasional reports on the sailing tab would suffice. The problem seems to be that I'm not sailing yet.  I feel that I should say something and this weekly habit is hard to break. I write something down. The things I do for an audience of two. I see some of these u-2b sites with thousands of people watching. No one looks at mine. Who would wish to force that crap on the universe?

The heat is in the 90's (the 30's in metric). Mighty, tough sailing folk scurry to their air conditioners. I don't have one. These things are not readily air conditioned. Your caveat emptor when considering one of these boats.  I decided to acclimate. I sweat a lot. The breeze dries the sweat so I am never sure if I drink enough. After my walk each evening I drink over a quart (946.353 millisomethings) of water before I can have my beer. Great, I slosh.............

Lawdy, lawdy the big storm was a'comin'. It missed.

I bought a couple lights for the cockpit. As you already know, buy something of quality, re-manufacture it and you have something worth having. I dismantled the light, and , brightwork fans avert your eyes, painted the teak rings. I removed the incandescent bulbs and will replace them with LED's. Then a coat of dielectric grease on the contacts and Voila' (Viola?, Violet?) a good fixture. You teakophiles will cringe, but I have no teak on this vessel. I have douglas fir (painted), white oak, (varnished), lignum vitae (soaked in tung oil) for the pin bushings but no teak. Aesthetic consistency.

Good ol' back porch music.
