The L̶a̶u̶n̶c̶h̶  Lunch. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I wanted to launch this October. I wanted to work harder. I thought I could do it. I said I would either launch or take a picture of my lunch. My brain is mush. I move in a semi-conscious state plodding through only one thing at a time. I can only move at this rate. I am not enthused. This is not the enthusiastic portion of the build. It is the make-sure-I-don't-screw-up portion. I move methodically.

And a reserved thankya to Gary for his encouraging words. I will get there:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NawOGRrRlU  cut and past that in your browser, all ye lovers and dreamers. And David sent encouragement. He thinks that I should have more followers, like 4 or 5. Talk about dreamers! How many people do you know that can read and write sentences with vowels and punctuation? I might have had 5 followers at one point but 3 dropped out thinking it was too difficult to follow.

I worry about money. I worry about finishing. I worry about whether the motors will work. I worry about getting it out of the yard, I worry about motoring it out. I worry about docking it for the first time. It's all new and unfamiliar. It's one big thingamajig. I can do it. I know that. I just have to learn it all the hard way, like I have on all other aspects of the boat. I recite the serenity prayer (short version) and press on.

It all ends up in trusting people to help and the faith to know that they will be there. Then there's Phyllis, you remember Phyllis don't you? She was supposed to show up Monday, even told me personally that she would be here, I made a list of things to discuss. She didn't show up.  That's twice that she never bothered to even tell me she would not come. I still don't know what her plans are. Fabric people have fabric for brains. If anyone needs canvas work in Texas, I have two names I wouldn't recommend ever. My problem is that I believe people, a virtual babe in the woods. Trust is out the window. Another reinforcement of the you're-in-it-alone mantra.
Faith and trust,  Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.....................................

As promised, here's a picture of my lunch. It's Texas, so I went over to the Waddleburger and had a patty melt, malt and fries. It's small consolation. It's not my favorite burger place. I belong to the White Castle cult, but it's Texas and there ain't no White Castles so I thought when in Texas consume enough calories at one sitting to feed a crew of 3. I ate. I got brain freeze from the chocolate malt. I waddled out. Mission accomplished. What launch?
The motor controls are slightly complex. I had to drill 3 holes to route wire the neutral safety switches. There was not enough room to get a drill in so I ended up drilling the holes with a hole saw and a ratchet. It was slow going and tedious. Of course the holes had to be epoxy coated. This means a day in time (sigh).
Picture
I had another epoxy squeeze container blowout and had to replace it.
Picture
The conduit run through the holes, on the left. All those wires do something.
Picture
The neutral safety switches connected. I flip flopped on the routing. I think I'll like it.

Meanwhile, down at the motors. I connected the two yellow ground wires. One to the motor ground and one to what I think is the oil sending unit. I connected the two red hot wires, One to the battery input terminal, one to the starter solenoid.
Picture
The spaghetti of the wires at the motor. Ya know? I actually understand it. That thing at the bottom is the starter button. I will cut it out and route everything to the start panel.
Picture
So this is the start panel. I will have 3 sets of lights. Hey, ya gotta have lights! At the top, the toggles. They will activate the board and send power to the neutral safety switches. I will have two small green lights to show the toggle is turned on. The neutral safety switch (when the controls are in neutral) route power to the push buttons and orange lights to show the push start buttons are hot. Once the motors are running, I will turn off the toggles. I also have two red oil pressure lights that will come on when the oil pressure is low. Do not even ask me if this will work. I do not know.
So I got the wiring heebie jeebies and had to do something else for a bit. I bought 16 feet (5 deciblemeters in metric) of led strip lighting, cut to fit. I bought two 8 foot (somewhere around 2,500 micrometers in metric) pieces of vinyl outside corner molding. I cut them to fit in the galley as under counter lighting, I glued them in place. I still have to finish wiring them.

While I had the caulking gun loaded, I also closed the corners of the forward cabin hatches.

We had motorcycle weekend here. It was loud and there were some beautiful bikes! Two dead, people don't see motorcycles. Usually it's never the cyclist's fault. I drove extra cautious this weekend.
