Ben and I spent a day saleing, garage saleing . It was the all county annual garage sale. We got a few vises, besides the human ones we already have. We wanted a big bench vise for Budgetboater and found one at a good price. I also picked up a couple small ones to use and put on the boat. We released Budgetboater onto the boat and he worked on the port forward deck getting it ready to glass. Ben worked on the filleting and prepping the starboard forward cabin for painting. He is pretty good at filleting and his nature is to be exacting. He mixes an equal by volume of epoxy, fumed silica and microballoons. Pipes it into the corners using a sandwich bag, shapes the corner with a piece of plywood or plastic scraper rounded over, then finishes smoothing it with a wetted finger. Then he scrapes the excess off the edges with a flat scraper. They look really nice. He also put in the shelf supports (again). The 30 gallons of epoxy came in. We recalculated: 55¢ an ounce. Tear stains on the invoice! One bucket is not in the picture. Those boxes each contain one 5 gallon bucket. We need no more epoxy! Ben spent some time a while back making small volume mixing cups using cheap plastic drink cups (10¢ each) instead of the largr custom mixing container (30¢ each) Ben was also sanding and sanding and sanding the forward cabin (and sanding) Tom, the neighbor gave us a guesstamate on the aluminum needed for masts and crossbeams and such. The tax money is gone! He can't get 1/8" wall, so we have to use 1/4" wall. BOATT: Break Out Another Two Thousand. I know you have been on pins and noodles wondering what I did this week. I made circles................ Added just a little too much hardener to a batch of epoxy.............................. and smashed out an improperly placed cabinet door support! I wonder why I don't feel that I had been productive.............it should have been a smashing week! Take me home..................................no, not an Irish drinking song..........................
