So, what do you do when you're bored, have no transportation, and cannot work on the boat due to the weather? THE INTERNET! I ended up buying a windlass for the boat (goddam Ebay). It was a decent deal, so I picked it up. Those things ain't cheap! I got a few hours in on Sunday and installed, reinstalled and re-reinstalled the brackets for the galley stove. Third time's the charm, or chump, depending on your point of view. I also glued in some bracing on the bottom of the drawers to be installed under the stove. The bottoms are only 1/4" thick, so bracing was in order. Then it got cold again. By Thursday the weather was warming again. Neil must be clairvoyant: We put the epoxy into a cooler with a light bulb to warm it up so I could apply it to the galley stuff I am getting close to finishing the 2 drawers that go under the stove. We epoxied the galley doors to stabilize them. We will put a coat of varnish over the epoxy. Each coat takes a day. I also coated the edge trim of the galley table, again to attempt to stabilize it. Ben (remember Ben?) finally made it back here Friday night, just 4 days short of a 2 month absence. He had the truck loaded with stuff we think we need, like the planer and some Doug fir marine plywood to build a full width swim platform on the back. He got profiled north of Dallas and was pulled over with for some made up traffic violation (following too close to a semi truck) and was advised to go faster. You don't argue with a cop, you just say "thank you, officer. Basically he looked like a terrorist and they had to say something about why they pulled him over because they can't profile people. He received a warning.......DONT LOOK LIKE A TERRORIST! Budgetboater got out a bit and did some filleting in the drawers and the divider under the stove. So, he's climbing into the galley and hooked his butt on the corner of the stove. This boat stuff is tough on clothes and asses. We all have our blood preserved under the epoxy in spots. I'm giving the stove a tetanus shot. From the "Rogues Gallery" album. I really like the pseudo didgeridoo!
