Another Week Shot And Still Doing Boat Stuff.

There is never enough time. Time keeps a' slippin', slippin' into the future. I finally got the mower running properly (bad ground, earth in metric). I mowed the 18" long grass (half meter in metric). 

Away from the boat folk, I live my other life. Which is the one true lifestyle? Both it seems, and why not? Boat folk address their lifestyle as some sort of mission or calling, rejecting other alternatives as somehow lesser and inferior.  Maybe it's just self reassurance of a decision made. They keep bringing it up as if they doubt. Me? I'm content wherever I am.

With my sense of urgency escalating, I dove into the weeks tasks. ​Then we had a few days of rain. Man plans, God laughs. I returned to a side project: the figurehead. I glued it the best I could. Some cosmetics, some filler, some paint and it will be back to what passes for normal on a boat.

Cat The Cat is adapting to the new cool green world. Like Juan Sebastián Elcano, he contemplates the theory that the front yard is somehow connected to the back yard through some circuitous route. Perhaps a circumnavigation of the house is in order. He is working out the logistics and intricacies of  cat door operations, the entrance to that back yard world. He longs for the world where fish are readily at hand (paw).

At least it's cool here.

I worked on the Mirror dinghy. I'll take it out next week. Dinghy sailing is fun and tactile, tiller in one hand, sheet in the other.

I will also start the stairway to haven project. That wet treated lumber needed to dry out a bit. 

So that was my week. Roof quotes, Lawn mowed, Weeds whacked, Cat attacks.
