Is It Just Me?

I need to revamp my attitude. Slogging through the build has been difficult. It seems that it never will end and the negativity creeps in. I did not choose to build a boat. I never would have started. It just happened. Circumstances and my tenacity (and two other workers) thrust me into completing the damn thing. It would be finished. There was no doubt. Now I am on the verge of living the new lifestyle. I won't say "dream" I don't know what that means. We all know what dreams are made of. It's your unfettered psyche run amok. You can't let that thing loose. It will get you in trouble every time.

The two words that seem to crop up around boats are "Freedom" and "Dream". The best boat name then would be "Freedom's dream" I guess. Those two words are banned from my lexicon until further notice.

For the past several years, I have been attempting to rid myself of stuff that I had to carry around, That is freedom (Ha Ha). I don't want to tote anything around. Now the new car came with a lump that you have to carry around with the key. I had to add the two keys for the place I rent, then three. I added my cool knife with the ruler that you can measure stuff in hardware stores. Then I put on the P38 can opener. What have I done?? Now I see that maybe soon I will have to carry this huge lump of a smart phone because it has become both a necessity and an addiction in society. Is it just me that wants to rid themself of all this claptrap? Aww, poop. it 1s just me.  I don't belong on this planet anymore. Maybe soon the boat will want to shed itself from the control of it's human overlord and roam free on the ocean by itself as the sea hound in pursuit of the Flying Dutchman. I won't blame it.

And a correction. Olivier said his boat isn't in the water. He's still building. I get mixed up in my thinking......... It's Sergey that's in the water, We Tiki 38 people are in a constant confused state.

OK, OK the blog stuff.

So, Fernando, who secretly runs the boat yard (don't tell the people that think they run it!), is in charge of yard maintenance. He mows, empties the trash and does all the stuff no one else does. When he mows, he leaves the blooming wildflowers alone until thy finish blossoming. He knows the important things in life.
I made these real cool drawers a couple years ago for the galley. The juuuuust fit under the stove if you manipulate, twist and shout it into position. Then I added this really cool tilt out under the sink. I had to remove the drawer to hook up the stove and discovered one real cool item interfered with the other real cool item. Ya just can't be too cool. I attacked the drawer with a saw in situ. Much bowelship language later, I removed it. Now I had a hole in my drawer like aging underwear (drawers). Grab a couple pieces of scrap and fashion a new side. Get another triangular shaped scrap and fill the gap. As Budge would say "It's epoxy!".
Remember the things? You know, those things? Well, I painted 'em. Then I hung my tool bags on them. Is it a good idea? Maybe..........I'll let you know after I've lived with it for a while.

So why does it look like I didn't do much this week. It's because I am trying to deal with organizing everything. It's difficult because there is stuff in the way that has to go on the boat, like anchors (no rode, no windlass yet) and solar panels. Clearing a spot is more difficult

I took the folding bike to a shop and had it worked over. I rode it to the music festival. That seat is designed for people who never want to have children. I'll order a different one.
The motor control cable ends came in. Mike of the yard attached them to the control. This made it difficult to install the 20' cable as it had to be threaded while attached to the control.

I also routed the edge of the Nav station top. I have plans for this.

So, my two faithful followers. do not forget to take the time to enjoy birds and flowers. Do not keep procrastinating until it's too late.....................

The Music♪: Mike Stinson "The Box I Take To Work"

It's the Third Coast Music Festival this week. There are a lot of bands that I am unfamiliar with, You just shuck a bunch of oysters hoping to find a pearl. I found a few.
