Catamaran Cabana, Augury Of The Beginning Of The End (Days Of Future Passed) And My Annual Vacation...........................................Naw!

People get stuck in time. They look with nostalgia upon a period of time in their youth as if it were something magical and special, Getting entangled in that period, maybe their high school years or their time in the military, they forget about the most important period of their lives: the here and now. The future is mist and not worth worrying about, as it will happen in spite of us.  The past is legend and myth, clouded by faulty memory and aggrandized. I cannot remember any time that was better than now.

Ben reports the untangling of a fawn from the backyard fence and Sam reported the residency of a snapping turtle in the aforementioned yard. I should go back..........................

It"s time for my annual summer vacation. I'm staying here. The time when I do nothing and sit back and read novels......... No, I have to get this finished. The time when I sit on a hill and watch fireworks up close................No, no time for that. They need me back there to help with the annual house maintenance.........No, I have to work on the boat and finish something. The time for the road trip..............No, I'll drive to the grocery store. The time when I recharge my psychological batteries................No, I'll work on reserve power. I should be rescuing fawns and assisting snapping turtles find their way, but I must keep moving. The time when I .................... forget it........the boat (this sucks!).

Backyard snappy turtle.

Budge plowed his way and worked on the motor controls. I plowed my way through a number of piddly tasks. Motivation is minimal. I should be on vacation.

Final varnish coats on some interior wood. Man likes wood. It is unpredictable, quirky, unique, like man, only smarter. 

Latches.  I have to go into those damn hot cabins where it's damn hot and I sweat a damn lot. Do I want to,,,,damn not!  

And sweat. And tears..............and vacations.............awww. I gotta work....

Running rigging rings. Stuff's piling in, money's draining out.

The battery box, central hub of all things electric. Big cables to handle the load. Feeding main terminals in each hull.

Budge built a shade cover for the boat, It's pretty cool. I'll just stay here and live on the boat. We'll sit on the deck and drink Mai Tai's....watch them houkahouka fish swim by. I know you don't get it ..... I do.

I started the stem posts. I sanded and glued on the figurehead sides to each stem post. This is Ehecatl. This is is infusing the spirit of the god of the wind into the soul of the boat.  This is the start of the completion process, It will never be finished.......... until I am. But......that's life. Not the end, the middle, where the good stuff happens not then, not soon, now.
