The Wrench In The Machine

Every week it seems like it takes me longer to write this blog. Writing consumes my Saturday evening and part of my Sunday morning. I check and re-read it several times and errors still creep in. I want to be of the modern, one finger swipe generation, where spelling is the casualty. I am of the old, one finger generation. That finger is usually waggled at me in traffic.

Thanks to Ken, ATW, for his words of encouragement. Appropriately, he is not a big fan of the color (success!). Normal isn't our forte. Urine green is our new attempt at hue. Pebbly texture is the surface. Paint hates us. I don't know why.

It seems that there is always something rattling around in your well oiled machine. Production was slowed due to us being us. Stuff popped up and got in the way. Re-thinks, remarks, re-evaluations and rain resounded. More info next time. Let's look at the pictures...........
Picture
With the paint comes the rain. We do not want it to bubble again (goddam Valspar). With the rain comes the tarp. With the tarp comes the wind. With the wind comes the tarp tie downs. With the tie downs comes the bungee. Texas sun eats bungees for lunch by lunch! Ben bought a bunch of DIY bungee stuff.
Bungee on Reggae woman to paraphrase Stevie. Hog rings, stretchy cord, pliers, and old bungee hooks to make new stuff. As a note, we just came back in after re-stretching the tarp in the rain which came loose and created lakes in the tarp between the hulls at 8:00 PM on a Saturday evening.. I will not attempt to  describe the endeavor. We get no breaks.........

In the blustery Texas winds all you can do is hunker down and hang on. This butterfly was alee of the workshop postponing his flutter by duties.

My Head..........setting up the camera...........is the time delay set?..............Apparently Nope.

I glued in that panel I made last week and filleted around it. There is a gap at the bottom of the panel of approximately 1/8" to allow it to breathe and drain. A coat of primer next.

My photo assistant, who takes pictures of my head.

I Started cutting holes in the panel that fits there. Buncha electrical panels go in then prime and paint.

So! We attacked the big whiteboard and erased all the stuff we did: Beams, Pod, Paint only to create a new list. Budge, the eternal optimist (tra la, tra la) wrote a new list.........bad language by me inserted here.
Budge, self proclaimed master of the Roto-Zip, worked on those center cabin electrical panels. Someday I'll understand all this.
So finally I bolted the aft hatch handles on. I don't remember when we started these. Dowel rods dug from someone's trash cans, shore 70 rubber pads, butyl rubber, ¼-20 oval headed machine screws, fender washers..............simple? Must be some epoxy involved.
Ben disappeared for a couple days in an assist of Budge's Poppa on the great rental tenant shovel out. A couple scores: shelving to organize/ store the electrical crap and other sundry boat paraphernalia and some RG8 coax for the UHF, hopefully usable. Next time: the great sadness.....stay tuned.

The Music♫: Aloe Blacc "I Need A dollar"

Don't we all, bruddah; don't we all, hey hey. Another selection from Ben.
