Heat Wave, The Only Wave Available And "Why?" You Ask

The weather to this point has been mostly gorgeous......... to this point, so I can't complain when the temperature is in the 90's (33 centimeters in metric). The spring rains haven't sprung. The breezes help make it tolerable.  The temperature topped 90° this week. I worked between the hulls in the shade a lot. I acclimate. Once it hits hot, it's hot, in spite of whatever heat calculators they have to exaggerate the numbers to make it seem worse. Go out, stay out of the sun, if you can, work slower, drink a lot of water. I take breaks by sitting in my chair between the hulls in the shade and drinking water.

I know you ask why I am still in the boat yard? Why am I not frothing at the mouth pounding on desks and screaming at folks to get things done? Because I worked for a living and understand; because all that stuff accomplishes naught; because I like the guys in the yard; because I have work to do no matter where I am; because Dog has granted me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. I am accomplishing stuff that is enough.

There is always someone to tell you your mistakes after you make them.
I finally got the last two solar panels mounted. It took a bit to wrestle them into place and I had to move one bracket over about an inch and a half (bunch of millisomethings in metric). I have to wire the last two panels to the terminal block.

Lotsa breaks, lotsa water. I hit frustration periods several times this week. Mostly due to disorganization. I can't find stuff easily. The heat makes it easier to get frustrated.
The swim ladder that I lashed together was not working. I didn't think it would when I made it. The rope allowed the treads to twist. so there was no firm support. I just put sides on the treads and it seems to be just dandy, I also pegged the treads to the sides so it is very strong. I lashed it down using the existing rope through the existing holes. I had to shorten the rope, as there was now no need to re-tie all those knots. Glue everything with epoxy, coat with epoxy, apply primer, apply paint, 2 coats. This takes time.

I located and mounted lights in the cockpit.

The hole. Ya know, for the propane hose? It goes through there. I had a bit of a problem with the routing of the hose. I did not have enough length to do it the way I wanted. I went to the big orange box store and wandered around and almost got a partial solution. I put what I had back on the shelf. I needed the whole package. The local building supply place was helpful but didn't help, as they did not have the stuff. The propane place just sold propane. Finally, as a last ditch effort before again venturing on the world wide shopping channel, I stopped at the local hardware store. The lady was a whiz at solving problems. In no time at all I had hose, shut off valve and everything I needed to  accomplish the job. Nothing beats knowledgeable professionals. I don't fit into that category................
