Packin' The Kit, Curin' The Dangle (Mind Out Of The Gutter, Please), Seizing The Wire (Not The Day), And Solving That Problem(??)

Thanx to Todd for the contact. He thinks I'm doing fine. That's 50% of the two of us. I suppose I should be happy.

I went to the dentist to pick up my braces (long story- you'd die of boredom if I told it). It was sundae day and they were incongrously giving out free ice cream laden with numerous sugary toppings. Drumming up future business I would surmise.......... Is it just me? I hate that place. They're always so happy. It's unnatural.

Apologies to you two followers for the late post last week. The difficulties of living where I am expanded. This was caused by the property manager removing the internet router and washer/dryer. I don't know what I miss the most, certainly not the property manager.  I had to tap into the boat yard internet to post the blog on Monday.

I heard from Budge. They're wending their way south down the coast with winter at their coattails.
Ben finished school. Once he gives his presentation, he will have his masters in supply chain management, which is better than pizza chain management. Me. I'm here.
So there you have the update of the wholly trinity.

I seem to be hauling more crap around lately. The cellular telephone demands I feed it regularly, I can't leave the sunglasses in the car, lest the heat bakes the coating off of them. The camera must be protected from theft and heat. Now I'm dragging the accoutrements of Invisalign around to boot: my kit bag. Freedom is a concept, not a reality. Americans love freedom. They have no idea what it is, so they make stuff (mostly shit) up. So the basic concept prevails: ya gets a catamaran and you wave goodbye to all with minimal effort utilizing a single digit. You go someplace new and stay there until those people piss you off , too. Then you move on searching for that mythical grail: humans not being human. Oh, man.......tilting at windmills.

I suppose I'll be done here soon. It's time for the water.

Here  am, sitting under the boat loading all the pictures for this week's blog. No internet at my place that can handle these photos. I got them loaded. Now I am back home getting myself loaded so I can write this damn thing. There is the graph where the inebriation axis intersects the creativity axis. This is the optimal point for transcribing this blog.

I mounted a couple lights in the center cabins. I still have to run wires to them. I mostly am digging crap out of storage and putting it somewhere. The lights are some part of a half conceived concept I have to define the character of the boat. You know, some people have vast ideas, some have half-vast ideas. Serendipity is closely spun  into the skein of this homespun tapestry known as the Dog. It is closely woven into my psyche as well, It was the same with the house I built. Sometimes I dictated the process, sometimes the house told me what it wanted. You must listen......
So I had this dangle. A set of 110 volt wires were not secured. I secured them. It was hot, sweaty and brief, like most dangle problems.
Carping on the day. I seized the shackles of the standing rigging. This involved a length of monel wire wrapped in the correct direction to keep the shackle pins from unscrewing. I did all eight of the shackles.
I spent a goodly amount of time making these blocks. I glued them on with superglue and then ran some low viscosity epoxy along the edge so capillary action added epoxy to the gaps. I then micro filleted and painted them. That should help with the problem............
I have this paper towel bar that I wanted to put somewhere. The hull is only 9mm thick, that's thin in American measurements. I glued on a block so I could put screws in it. Rather than the superglue, I used 5 minute epoxy. I coated the surfaces and mixed cellulose to thicken it. It was starting to cure so I pressed it into place and held it temporarily in place with masking tape. Once mostly cured, I used regular epoxy and added some micro fillets. Then I started the painting process.

For the boat yard guys. Stan has been gone 35 years now. It's about boat folk.
