Tinker, Trailer, Sojourn, Nailer

We (Me 'n' Cat) traveled Sunday through the lesser roads of Louisiana and Mississippi. Our stopover point was up highway 61 (yes, that highway 61). We skittered east for a bit then turned north. It was good to see that the trees no longer looked like pom-poms on a stick. Re-entering the world of green made me feel better. It's a vacation from a vacation. The car was chucky-jam full of stuff that I think (hope) I will no longer need.

We arrived on the verge of evening Monday. These road trips are getting harder. I spent more time packing cat stuff than I did packing Chuck stuff, sufficing with a couple items and the dirty laundry bag.

A "Hey-Ho" to David for his comments.

Cat found the aquarium (cat TV) and is having trouble figuring out how we keep lunch inside.

I disembowled the car and put stuff away.
The riding lawnmower needed a bit of maintenance. We pulled the deck. Pressure washed it and painted it. I also ordered a new solenoid for it.

The utility trailer has those classic symptoms: tire dry rot. I'll be taking that in for new shoes.

Cat is busy exploring. He is staying clear of the resident cats, Betty and Vader.

I have to nail in new treads on the apartment steps. Paint it, too. Maybe I should have played Led Zeppelin this week.

I trimmed and re-potted my #2 cactus. I cannot divulge how I obtained it. I'm not sure but I think that the statute of limitations is still in effect.

Tinkered with the ol' barbecue grill that has served us well since we pulled off the street on garbage collection day 10 years ago. I still might get it to work for a few more years.
I started the repair of the port side figurehead. If you can recall, it was a victim of the maiden voyage. I epoxied the broken piece and clamped it to repair the de-laminations and quiet my lamentations.
 Ohio gots flowers, too.

So that's about it. I have plenty to do here.

Yes, I'll try to squeeze in some sailing. I have some repairs to the Mirror dinghy to do first........
