Flood of Sorts, Fun of Sorts, Work of Sorts, Out of Sorts

I dread the word "epoxy". Every time epoxy is mentioned, the time to accomplish a task doubles (at least). The difficulty to finish the project triples. The aggravation of work quadruples. The chance for error quintuples. Work halts while the epoxy sets.  Insects, debris, foliage, dust and body parts end up in it marring what finish there is. The mind numbs the enthusiasm wanes the anger rises. There is no flow.

The flow this week was mainly through the yard. We woke up Monday to a flooded work area. A water main broke up hill from us and created a very muddy work area. We didn't work that day. Instead..................................

We took the mirror dinghy out and sailed the S̶e̶v̶e̶n̶ ̶S̶e̶a̶s̶  local lake. Hey, it's all we got! It was a wonderful diversion. Oh yeah, boat work.

Afthatchhandles..............Gasundheit! Hmmmmm this way or that way.

That way won't work because of the underside supports so it has to be this way. I spent a lot of time doing the epoxy hokey pokey with these coat bottoms with epoxy twice. Coat tops with epoxy twice. paint a few coats of paint. With epoxy an afternoon project takes days and days. Have I ever mentioned that I hate epoxy?

Oh......more gaskets......damn we need to show some work. We glued the last set of gaskets on the forward hatches. I also cut some aluminum strips to act as a splash guard on these hatches. I'll screw them on next week.

Thanksgiving coming up. We backsawed a turkey in half........We can't cook or eat a whole one!

We positioned the port motor box and drilled the support holes. Aww, hell most of you won't understand. Don't matter. we did stuff on the boat , mostly incomprehensible to you and us. We got up each morning and tried (mostly). 

Hole.............................................................................................Whut? I imagine that you think that we are some sort of dedicated, driven demented devotees of the process of  building dreams. Not so. Just guys that got conned into a concept half imagined, half conceived, half accomplished, half assed!
