A nuthin' week

Oh, man what did we do this week? Looking at the pictures, it doesn't seem like much. Ben is taking a vacation (Again???) for the next couple weeks to help his Mumma move. He didn't want to start another project and drop it in the middle, so I put him on the Mirror dinghy. Hey, I wasn't going to write "dinghy" anymore......drat! I went back to the interior cabinetry, but every time I started, Ben needed help.

And every time Ben needed help, I forgot where I was and had to rethink .he process  The Mirror was not quite right. We had glued on the new bottom, but it didn't quite fit and the centerline was a bit cattywampus. Without boring you to death, we decided to make sure the important bits lined up: daggerboard, skeg and rudder. To do this we glued an oak strip down the center and reshaped parts of the hull and glued on the skeg to line up with the daggerboard. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here's four or five thousand words worth.

And this took all week?????? The weather was normal. Temperatures hit 103°, then on Friday plummeted to the upper 60's. From too hot for epoxy to a bit cool for epoxy. Budgetboater is in the cerebral stage of hatch design. He's been wallowing there for a couple weeks. If it works out, we may have a way-too-cool sliding hatch system. If not, a nice pile of scrap. I'll be soldiering on next week alone, but expect to complete some projects.

The Music ♫: Joel Mabus

I think I'll play a few songs with religious themes in the next few posts. This is "The Preacher and the Flood".  This might or might not be Joel...........yewtewb doesn't assure correct information, but he wrote it.
