Pod Plodding, Block Building, Drip Dodging and Paint Peelings

So, a Canadian whiskey well in hand, I endeavor an attempt to eke out an interesting tale from a copious  amount of nothing. You two nihilistic readers are going to have to suck it up again this week. Sunday we had to bring in the beams and potential pod because a hard rain was a coming. I marked the spots where the final lashing blocks were to be placed. The plans say something like "Take a block of hardwood...............". These current blocks, sixteen in all, about 5" X 10" X 2" add up to a lot of wood. So far I've spent a lot of money on this aforementioned taking of blocks of hardwood. I am using American white oak a lot because of it's resistance to rot. This oak turns black in contact with water, so mostly we're painting it. Anything exposed we'll call "patina". We got some work in between showers, but it rained most of the week. I twiddled with the sewing machine a bit, patching the venerable sails for the Mirror. I am not a good sewer. I keep trying to sew thick heavy stuff. I don't want to sew other stuff.

Budge squeezed in a glue session during a brief sunny respite from the weather. The weather soon closed back in and we had to wrap it all back up.

You will understand this better anon. The Valspar paint continues to bubble up. Ben thought that he could take a scraper during a rain respite and knock off the tops of the bubbles. Instead he discovered that the paint, after months of drying. could scrape off easily coming off on sheets!

Bubble tops scraped! The water gets behind it and.....................................

It peels like a tangerine.

It took a short shift to make short shrift of the removal process. The rain helped a lot it seems. I did get those blocks glued up.......c'mon, you don't want to see more clamp pictures!
Hey......a video Ben Made! Aren't you lucky! All for now, Blogophiles. Next Week: Maybe Something............................................................................................Ya never know..............
