Writing a blog is easy. You start with your grey matter sloshing around in a modicum of alcohol so your fingers hit the keys. It's a delicate balance requiring the precise ratio between the two lest your fingers (brain) cease functioning. Then you can wax lethargic about the wonders and mysteries of building a catamaran. I think I know why I write this blog. It's so I can hear one good song a week. Thanks a lot to Kellie and Nathan, who love the WW Potter we sold them, for their comment on the boat. They are enjoying its qualities. We do indeed regret the sale and will miss the boat, but storage is the death of everything and we must move on with fewer distractions. It is the perfect boat to sail this Ohio area of inland lakes. It still sucks to lose the boat. So we left on S̶u̶n̶d̶a̶y̶ M̶o̶n̶d̶a̶y̶ Tuesday and drove. The two day, 1100 mile journey included a stop at the Jim Beam distillery for a tour and tasting. Driving in the lovely 103° Texas heat with no air conditioning in the truck was not pleasant, a bitch in fact. We both have trucker tans. Thursday was spent putting a semblance of our lives back together unpacking and acclimating. Tiny ants set up shop in the house while we were gone. They resent us and bite like a sonnavabitch! The boat is still here. Friday we did a bit, temperature over 100°. We took the mast case down and took beam 1 out of it's trough so I could access the sides to glue the cheeks in.
I checked the thermometer in the afternoon. It was 108°. Sun............of.........a......bitch! How can you work in that! The heat index, scientifically designed to make you feel worse, was 116°. Work was mostly nonexistent! Today (Saturday) I made a feeble attempt at productivity. Rain was in the area and we procrastinated. The hard part is starting. We will seize any excuse to not work.
I checked the fit of the stem post cheeks . It looks like they may be OK. We shall see.
One of those summabitches on each side of each stem post. I promise we will work next week.....honest! Maybe we will eventually move from sonavabitches to sunny beaches!
The Music♪: Dragon Boat Song
Big production, cute girl. I wonder if she can fix diesel outboards.
