Soon you will be able to say "Hey, that idiot in Texas finished that damn boat".

It's important, I think...........
Click the "<<Previous" at the bottom of the page to see the previous week's post.
Now I am beginning to become impatient. Up to now, I had blanked my mind and merely worked on the task at hand. Any attempt at looking towards the finish only produced a sense of frustration and futility. Now, I see it. The hurricane was two weeks ago. I want to go. I'm sick of here. I want to go there. Yes, I know that there is not much different than here, but that's neither here nor there, I need to reassure myself that it is or isn't. Yes, I know that I'll probably go crazy out there. It has been written that a lot of people make it about 18 months before the want to rejoin society. Right now we to say "They're here". So to you that also must be a bit more patient I say ""There, there". Soon it will be "Hear Hear"!
Soon you will be able to say "Hey, that idiot in Texas finished that damn boat". We blog on............
Someday soon I will have the time to be able to peruse a weighty tome and expand my mind.
Budge trudged through the electrics and worked in the aft starboard cabin,
And the cockpit, the pod, the podpit?
I spent a goodly chunk of my week in the center starboard cabin applying coats of varnish.
And putting the woodwork back together.
Including the under stair storage tilt outs.
We finally attached the rudders. We waited because we didn't want to have them in the way while we worked elsewhere.
Here's that copper foil grounding tape attached at two points to the ground plate. It runs to the SSB antenna tuner.
Here's Budge, flexing his testosterone, Showing how light the masts are.
He started readying the masts for painting. Here sanding one mast.
Here's Budge sizing up the mast for the wind generator.
Seeing as we dug the wind generator out, I seized the day and painted the cowl and nose piece. This was a used Rutland 913 I bought cheap and bought new parts and rebuilt a couple years ago. The paint should protect the plastic from the sun.
Meanwhilst, back at the mast case, we worked on positioning the the double, soon to be triple, roller to guide the chain past the mast. Remember, they forgot the roller?. Awwww, never mind.
That thing in the previous photo gets glued here, once I sand the paint off. The triple roller guides the anchor chain past the mast. You'll see next week. They shipped the missing part, by the way. So I guess that that's it for another week. We are closer to the end. I'm depressed, wondering what it's all about. I miss Ben, but know that he's happy and better off and becoming a new Ben. I also am better off being me, I just forgot who I am. I look forward to being me again, too.

I'll settle for somewhere or anywhere.
