First a bit of housekeeping. We have added a video link to our yewtewb channel (see up there↑). We are still taking applications for girls in bikinis  to act like they're having fun on the boat (we can't pay anything). Send diesel mechanic certification along with photo. Thanks to Tom for the words of encouragement. We sometimes get mired in the muck and fail to see progress. Ben reads this blog every month or more so he can be assured that we are progressing.
We have discovered that making videos is more time consuming than writing this blog. Filming videos requires that you attend the camera. If you are attending the camera, you're not working. Filming interrupts the work flow. If we just let the camera roll, we end up with incredible amounts of trash footage that we have to watch and edit. It is indeed a new task.......we don't need new tasks. Do not expect a lot of videos. Now on to the real work.
Picture
We cleaned up the chips around the bow holes we drilled last week. Waddaya want, videos of pretty young people sailing around and making you feel like you wasted your life?????? This is reality.
Picture
We worked on the beams (yaaaaaaawn). The slots needed coating.
Picture
Several coats. The black stuff is epoxy mixed with graphite so that, theoretically, the beams will slide on the pins, if necessary.
Picture
Ending up with black stuff smeared around the holes that we had to paint over. So................
Picture
We painted the beams, several coats.
Picture
We painted the beam troughs.
Picture
A few coats...............AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
Picture
My side project was to make the plates that cover the beam trough holes where the pins go through the hull. Crap, I don't even get that.......pictures next week................If I remember.

Did you ever open one of those cases holding tools and such the wrong way????

At the back of our minds has been the (semi) final assembly problem. We have some big, heavy stuff to put in place. While we waited for the paint to dry, we toyed with moving the pod into place. Now, we could find a guy with a big machine who maybe could drive the ten miles and spend the 30 minutes if he has the time and if our pockets are deep enough. We are still waiting for Larry to show up to move the hulls that we moved last year without him. So....
Picture
Cobble a bunch of stuff found in the yard and make a cart for the pod so we could move it.
Picture
Now all we have to do is go straight up about 5 feet!
Picture
Ben, like Theseus, unraveling his thread through the labyrinth of the plans. We did manage to get a picture of the guy that drew the plans:

Here he is in his studio.......................................

We did this a lot. Paint roller in back pocket, brush in hand clambering around the hulls. We had two days of rain. We attended two concerts (Eliot Sumner, Alejandro Escovedo) and dragged in at 1:00 AM for the past couple days. The weather finally broke and we have good working conditions, once the dew burns off. Now we have to wait longer for the epoxy to set. Nuthin' is ever perfect.

I used to think this was a good version.....................

I expected a Buckwheat Zydeco video, as a tribute and whatnot ya know. Keep up the good work! You'll get there. Cheers!
