Chopped Up, Chucked Out, Checked In, And The Evolution of Design

And a big "Hey" to Budge, who, like myself, has entered the CRS stage of life. He doesn't remember the outlets he wired a year or two ago. I am sure that by now his kids think of him as some ancient mariner doddering about and calling them by the wrong names. I have been in that state for years. What is CRS you ask? CRS is a state you enter into in your later years. It is an abbreviation of "Can't Remember Shit", also known as oldtimers disease.

And thanks to Gary, always one to prod, for his unhelpful comment.

I have emerged from my lethargy (postpartum  depression), checked back in and  started doing things that have been sitting back in the back of my brain and bothering me. More like poking me with sticks. I only had semi solutions to these problems and needed the spark. Meanwhilst I worked on livability and ergonomics. I need to function.
Picture
The galley table, beautiful in concept  and design. impractical in function and use. I had already lopped off 3 inches to fit the fridge into the galley. The table folds up but is heavy. I could not access the fridge while the table was down.  I needed something else. With heavy heart I removed the heavy table.

Folded up so I can access the fridge. Be careful of Cat T. Cat!

I cut it up and chucked it out. It was pretty! It was sad. It ate up 4 saw blades in the process!

The new table will move out of the way, unlike the cat.

'The anchor rode: 50' of chain and a buncha rope. The rope is all twisty and I needed to mark it before I wound it into the rode locker. My color code: Yellow= 25', Red= 50', Blue= 100', Green= 200'. This marks the blue+red+yellow length. That's Azure +Vermilion + Amber in metric. There I was, laying line down the dock that I had measured and marked in 25' increments and trying to get the twist out of the rope. I started with the rope at zero discounting the 50' of chain, as it will just lie on the bottom in a pile.

The Music: Jerry Jeff Walker "The Mountains Of Mexico"

Maybe I'll sail through those mountains after I cruise those islets of Langerhans.

I have been calling my kids by the wrong names for quite some time now, or at least that is what they tell me. I cannot remember.
