Ducking Them 'Nados (Not Nachos)

It seems like this blog is turning into a catastrophic climatic chronology. Tomato, tornado, same thing, right? So the weather got wonky with tornados to the south It's been a wet spring and we have had some great storms. We mostly missed the messy, but not the moist and misty stuff. Ben and I have watched some pretty spectacular lightning shows off in the distance (with a better plot than most TV shows). It rained like crazy. Luckily, we got boats! Gathering up the animals..........................

On the plus side: more wildflowers. They keep coming with oodles of new varieties. On the minus side, not a lot of work being done. Save me from Ebay! Ben and I spent a day listing the sewing machine that attempted to destroy my sanity. It was a fancy machine that I couldn't get to work. To be fair, I am an idiot in this regard. I did notice something. If you type in "Ebay" in the Ebay website describing the item you're selling, It gets highlighted as a spelling error. Way ta go Ebay!

This flower is about the size of a dime. Most boat builders work with romantic thoughts of future adventure of pouring over charts and plying the trade routes in their finished catamarans. I work with thoughts of pouring a beer and ploughing through supper. That's as far into the future a builder of boats should look. OK not much boat stuff. Back to prepping the area for the hull move (where's Larry?). We decided to reorient the boat direction 90 degrees and the cat haus was in the way. So...................

Some 2X6's, a couple lengths of pipe................................

A couple of not-too-bright acolytes of Archemides.................................

A Kubota tractor, and the shed was moved backward 15 feet to make room for the hulls (Where's Larry?)

The edge of the gravel marked the starting point of the big shed move.  We then proceeded to move the big table that we moved last week back to where it was originally. OK everyone grab a corner, pick up, shuffle over 7 or 8 steps, set down, pant for 2 minutes, repeat several times. So we are not great on planning....................

Ben remanufactured a handle for the spatula (Where's Larry?)

I futzed with the galley cabinet doors. The first rule of woodworking is that wood moves. I had to shave down the cabinet doors (again) because they expanded an would not close properly. We bought a stick on truck mirror from the hardware store.

Good ol' American made products......................... Deputy D stopped in this week. Ben and Budge bailed him out of a tire problem a week ago and he has become enamored with Ben's boat, the Crown. It's a great little lake sailer and he is interested in buying it. The problem is that Ben is also enamored with it and may not wish to part with it. Deputy D loaned us a barbecue grill to mount on the rail for a little late launch lunch on the lake. Deputy D's wife wants a pontoon boat. I think he will lose on this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The Music ♪: B.B. King "Thrill Is Gone"

We lost another.................gone.  Here I am with another auditory obituary. If you have a chance to see a musician you like, go see him. You may never get the chance again. Live music is the standard for music quality. I cannot tell you how many times I said "I'll catch him next time only to find out that there was no next time.................thanks for the music, B.B.
