Getting There............................................................Where?

Things Progress. I am getting close to seeing stuff done. I worked mostly within budget last month. This done for the first time in several months. The quantity of things to accomplish is dwindling. Doing it all in the yard is a lot easier than in bounceyland.

I write stuff here and two days later, I erase it. I am attempting to ramble less, lest you amble away.  I have had people stop by and I hand out my card so that they can check out the website. Most peter out after a hundred or so posts. It is overwhelming if you attempt a binge viewing. I no longer know why I continue. Even Ben has moved on in his life and refuses to read the blog until I am in the water. So be it, I write wrapped up in the whole essence of the process, meandering through the mundane. As the animal kingdom knows, some days we eat lunch, some days we are lunch.........

Some visual progress this week. That's always nice.

I bought two eight foot pieces of stainless tubing to support the wind generator. You know the one I screwed up a few weeks ago and had to buy another. I took the pole over and had it drilled through so I can attach the attachments (what would you call them?). I cannot drill stainless; I break bits. I assembled the generator and attached the what-would-you-call-'ems to the pole. I then solicited a helper for ten minutes and bolted the pole in place. I had to re-position one brace a bit rotating it so it would line up properly. I had to drill one hole and fill in another. Grabbing a stainless pole that has been sitting in the 90° sun causes one to hop around while waving hands in the air and cursing.

I made that..................I didn't need it.

I varnished those, both mandatory. One the USCG registered number to be permanently attached to the hull. One the hull number to be permanently attached to the hull in another place. Both attached permanently........... to the hull(Huh?).

Of course I had to grind off the paint then coat with epoxy and glue them on. This is like being tarred and feathered Sweat just pours off of you while the sanding dust settles gently over you sticking to the moisture. The CA glue is good for this to hold it without having to nail it. I filleted it after.

Glued, filleted. I'm working on the paint.

Next, the roller furler. The fore stay sticks out into  the void, so I have to access it. The pucker factor is about 7.5 on the rectum scale.

Now, I don't much like pirates. They were a bunch of butt head crooks and criminals that we glorify as being romantic. But there you have it: the cross I bear (Gladly, the cross-eyed bear) the plank I have to walk to access the fore stay.  Anyway, who'd name a bear "Gladly".

Happy music.....be happy, dammit!
