Working hard to finish, we cannot ignore what needs to be done and what could be accomplished best here rather than on the water. It's daily decisions involving the resources here. It's the small stuff. It's the little part that halts a process. Solar panel mounts, bow roller, bolts, you name it. All things that drag the flow of process to the speed of sludge. We have broken the sludge barrier.

But it's clinging to the dream, which you no longer remember, vaguely recalled through the fog of time, embellished by a veneer of new expectations and peeling slightly from baking in the Texas sun for four years that keeps you going through the tedious processes and allows  the amnesia of the pains and the euphoria of the accomplishment. Wow, you have to take a breath in the middle of that sentence just to read it!

So onward, valiant vicarious voyagers, to the meat of the weekly toils.
Picture
Ahhhh, a nice tight waterproof box to protect the charge controller for the solar panels. But wait........we have to drill a hole for the wires. But wait, this thing gets hot........ we have to drill more ventilation holes to allow it to cool. A nice tight waterproof box............

Was that this week? I forgot. This to hold the chain roller guide. The roller is to the left. I am still waiting for the roller part from Italy.
Picture
The rope from Ben's chin up bar shows the route of the chain around the mast as soon as the roller gets here.

So the starboard center cabin was mostly finished. I went down the steps and heard "Crack" the top reinforcement popped loose halfway across!  Poop! Again? I mixed a batch of oakpoxy and reglued it.

Budge spent a lot of time finishing up the painting of the stem figurehead, all four sides.

There he is! Ehecatl resplendent, spirit guide of the "Dog", providing fair winds and guidance to a fair sailor, who's going to need it.

Painting that thing.
The final plumbing bits. The head sink drain. Budge still has to plumb the faucet.
The galley tile, something I have been dreading. The best approach is to just start and see what happens. We spitballed several Ideas, changed it a couple times. Reality dictates whether the sink goes under or over or in-between the tile and where the faucet has to be installed.
This isn't all we did. I get lackadaisical about photos of the mundane. I know you want to see the happy boat builders. I cannot perpetuate that fiction. I see those happy boaters rubbing your noses in the myth of the dream. As Confucius said "No matter where you go, there you are".  Just live the life you got, enjoy it and have a beer (I ain't paying!).

Oh yeah, Rocky showed back up with a cushion! A big Rocky Huzzah Hip, Hip.................

Dreaming vs reality. Pay heed ye mighty builders of vessels or you'll be in the scuppers with the staggers and jags..
