Sunday was cold, wet, rainy, miserable.
Monday was wet, cold, rainy, miserable
Tuesday was rainy, foggy, cold, wet, miserable.
We slide into ennui and lethargy..................................
Wednesday was damp, foggy, rainy, wet, warmish, miserable.
Ben never got out of his pajamas...............
Thursday was cold. freezey, wet, sunny, miserable.
We slide further....................................
Hey, I discovered something....I write better with a bit of medicinal alcohol massaged into my stomach lining................

A rain puddle.

A freezing rain puddle.
Picture
A foggy rain puddle. Then, on Friday, the weather was warmer, warmer enough for us to sally forth (not March fourth) and mill about wondering what to do next, so we piddled around around the puddles. and did a couple small things. Like drill the drainage holes in the motor wells.

Outside.................

And inside........actually, it's the same hole, only different ends. Do holes have ends, or are they part of the universe that goes on into infinity? I'll leave that contemplation to astrophysicists, philosophers and rabbinical scholars.............

I routed out the space for the washer for the bolts that go through the windlass mount on the mast case and give a bit extra harrumph to the support of said windlass. Yes that's one long sentence - I ain't no Hemingway. What's a Hemingway? I don't know, I never weighed one! We did other stuff to the motor wells, like drilled big ass holes at the pivot points and motor boxes.

Yes that rod will be cut off eventually. Test fit, not looking under. We pulled them apart and will coat and coat and paint and paint them. Maybe a third coat of paint. Ben glued up a couple of white oak boards to make the rudder support blocks. They are white oak, our preferred hardwood for this boat because of it's rot resistance.

Same ol' clamp thing. All in all, it was a do nothing two weeks and it was hard to get re-started after that much off time. So, we must be off (I always was a little off) and resume our adventures in boat building. Once again you have wasted time that you never will recover reading this blog.....but the music is nice.....................

The Music ♪: Bud & Travis "Sloop John B"

No, not written by Brian Wilson. Goes back a ways. Somewhere In the West Indies via Carl Sandberg and the Weavers. One of those kind of songs........
