Stuck Drawer, Car Door, T-9ing The 44

It seems that I should be excited about going on the great salt see. Everyone talks about the seven C's. I don't know what they are. Maybe Catamaran, Compass, Curmudgeon, Catastrophe........................ oh crap (is that one?), You figure it out.

I hang around the boat yard and people stop buy and chat. It seems that in the first ten minutes of conversation people unload their tales of life whether I want to hear it not. I attempt a sidle. They scooch. I end up stuck, trapped against the hull, listening nodding and smiling. I have learned through this blog that very few people read it and fewer yet understand it. I get a lot more response from the video channel. This is  sad. My videos are crap.

I'm working on things that bother me. You know, things that you didn't do quite right and they sit there staring blatantly at you. I am very close to making the space livable. My new home, a space that caters to my needs, a place that I feel comfortable. The galley, cockpit and master cabin will be my nucleus. I wish to make few compromises to gain that fleeting moment of sailing perfection. Most of the time I will be living a normal life. I want to cook, read comfortably, watch trashy videos (those cute piano playing cats),  listen to music,  poop in comfort, and make stuff.

This boat would be nothing without Budge and Ben. I didn't build it alone. I couldn't. Their craziness dragged me into this entity of boats and blogs, mice and men, dreams and reality (the former is better than the latter). To build one of these, you need help!

Oh, and speaking of crap, I present: This Week's Blog!
Picture
A final skim coat and the patch was ready for the bottom paint.
Picture
I dug out the opened can of bottom paint. It rattled like a can of marbles. Bottom paint isn't supposed to rattle is it? Maybe I should open a new can.
Picture
I threw the can away. I dug out the unopened can and stirred and stirred and stirred. After a half hour and a sore wrist, it was mixed.
Picture
I coated the patch.
Picture
The bottom drawer under the stove in the galley was sticking and difficult to pull. I sanded it down and coated the area with varnish. It slides better but could use more tweaking. Enough for now.
Picture
Dammit! Those cockpit snaps were supposed to be stainless steel. Another day, another disappointment. I unscrewed the snaps, all 44 of them.
Picture
I stuffed the snaps into a cup and doused them with Boeshield T-9 and let them dry. Of course, I spilled half the cup onto the ground and had to pick them up and count them to make sure I had them all.
Picture
I had a couple rubber stair treads left so I glued them in the foot area of the cockpit.
Picture
I had time off and made soft shackles, The one on the bottom is the prototype that failed. Cut the line longer, dummy.

If it looks like I didn't do much, it's because I didn't do much, I lost a couple days waiting for the car door window regulator to get fixed. It rained a bit on Saturday, so I quit.

I also spent a lot of time stowing and re-stowing stuff around the boat. Each day it gets better. I don't take pictures of crap stowed. This is not something that photographs well.  Oh well neither do I.

Y'all come out and play.
