So! The Texas weather is finally warming up. We were relatively lucky in the spring, but now temperatures are in the high 80"s - low 90"s. Ben and I are working on the center cabins in both hulls. Ben is painting the galley and I am working the master cabin. I got the bare wood coated with the first coat of epoxy and glued in the shelves of the chartroom and bunk. I am just putting a couple shelves across the foot of the bunk and trying to figure out the placement of the SSB shelves. I have the radio, antenna tuner and modem to mount. It's nice and toasty inside the hulls and we don't have to worry about any wind to disturb us! At one point I said "whew, what's that horrid odor..............oh, it's me!"

That's good honest sweat upon his brow! No guarantee that he has the same attributes as his sweat Not grey hair.......paint!

Ben has been going to paint the galley for a week or two. Sidetracked by more shelves, and missed details, He started!

He started!

Shelves installed, ok, now he started- on to painting! It was so hot (how hot was it???) that the paint was drying in the roller pan and brush as he was painting. Lucky that his sweat kept dripping into it. Yes, there is blood, sweat and tears in this boat, Winston. The hulls have our blood sealed under epoxy from the numerous cuts and splinters we've endured. Sweat in the paint and tears from reading the latest invoice for epoxy....

I worked in the master cabin installing shelves and such. I didn't have a "Eurika" moment, that's the light bulb I used for illumination. Broke 3 bulbs in the process.

Sanding, and sanding, and sanding, and............................

Hey, why did I have so much trouble seeing the surface????? So, finally, I got the shelves glued in the end of the bunk and chartroom. trust me, It will look fine (I hope). Man, these boatbuilding sites have a lot of pictures of epoxied plywood!
Picture
Oop! that's the head. Insert toilet here!
Picture
Note the spreader clamps holding the shelves in place until the glue sets. The supports will be 1/3rd in from both ends and go to the ceiling.
Picture
Like this.....temporary fitting the supports. Of course, then I had to fancy up the dividers. I decided to put the SSB (Ham, single sideband radio) in the chartroom, the only place it will fit OK. This is the last minute shelf we made today for the radio. The right side goes to the bulkhead; the left side goes up to the shelf.

The radio shelf will fit under the second shelf down from the top and to the right bulkhead. Oh, It'll be fine..............
