Visiting, Coastering, The 3 trees, And The ̶5̶0̶ 5 Shades Of Gray

Yeah, nothing happens until it happens. My goal (HA!) for this excursion is yet unfulfilled. There were decisions to be made, failures to fail. visits to be made, cosmic alignments to be waited upon, and psyches to be soothed. It's not simple. I envy those that find it so. I don't blast through life counting coup. I do not recount my experiences, lest I have had a couple drinks and an ear that listens, a rare occurence.

I had some pictures for last week but we were traveling. I had to post from my cellular phone. What a piece of crap! Both the inadequate cell phone and my writing.

We headed back from South Carolina, one more business-with-pleasure task accomplished. We delivered Sam's stuff and had a nice visit (dead fish and company start to smell after 3 days).

So you drive through the hinterlands of the U.S. and you come across this sign. It's a permanent sign. We drove a bit more, then decided the sign was put there for a reason. We turned around.

Gatlinburg Mountain coaster. What?? You expect great Sailing adventures? Ben said I couldn't use the brake. Note that the brake handle is pushed all the way forward in the full rock and roll position. Pardon me if I swagger...............

I registered the dinghy and might just yet get to take her out.

Ben caught a deal on some paint. 5, 1 gallon cans of gray mis-mixed paint all a slightly different shade of gray. We poured them all together. We will paint the stairs whatever color gray it is.

I cut down and cut up three trees that were close to the house'

I attached a ratchet strap to the Rose of Sharon tree that had been growing toward the left because the 3 trees were crowding it over. I attached the other end of the strap to one of the stumps and ratcheted the tree over to a more upright position. I'll leave it there until next summer. This will allow it to stay upright.

So the stairway to haven went to hell. We ripped out the stringers, treads and deck. We have to paint it the whatever gray color and put new stuff in. Same ol' story: don't depend on other people and you'll never be disappointed.
